Introduction

This Privacy Statement explains how CatCat collects, uses, and protects information when you use our browsers, websites, and services. Some of this information may be considered “personal data” under applicable laws. However, even when we process personal data, we generally cannot identify you as an individual. Our users remain essentially anonymous to us.

Data Processing Information

  • Account

    Our browsers do not require sign-in for regular browsing activities. However, you may create a CatCat account to access additional services. Your account data remains separate from your browser’s random installation ID.When creating a CatCat account, we collect your preferred username and email address for identification and password recovery. You may also sign in using social media accounts, in which case we may collect your name, profile picture, and email address from those platforms. You can modify or delete your account through your profile page. Data is retained for seven days after account discontinuation, then permanently deleted. Verified accounts are automatically deleted after two years of inactivity; unverified accounts after six months.

  • Personalized News

    Some applications include a News Feed feature. To provide relevant content, we collect information about articles you read and your general location (city or country) to build an interest profile. This data is linked to a randomly generated News ID and stored for up to four years.

  • AI Assistant

    The AI-powered chat assistant processes your inputs to provide responses. Your conversations are stored locally and on our servers for 30 days, but not retained by our AI partners. You can delete chats at any time through the chat interface.

  • Data Compression

    In data-saving modes, we log IP address, random ID, advertising ID, and URLs (but not content) for debugging and service improvement. This data is stored for up to 45 days.

  • Cashback Program

    When using the cashback feature, we collect merchant URLs, purchase items, transaction amounts, and IP address. Payment data may be stored for up to five years due to regulatory requirements.

  • Security Features

    We check visited URLs against known malicious websites to protect users. No personal data is processed for this feature, which can be disabled in settings.

  • Search Services

    You can customize your search engine in browser settings. Use of search engines is subject to the provider’s own terms and privacy policies.

  • Usage Statistics

    We collect installation ID, device information, and feature usage data to improve our products. This data cannot identify you personally and is retained for up to three years. You can opt out in settings.

  • Home Screen Features

    Visual bookmarks on the home screen may include ads from our partners. These partners may collect data independently, which you can manage through cookie settings.

  • Third-Party Technologies

    • Analytics and Crash Monitoring:

    • AI Text Processing (Large Language Models):

      For text-based AI features, we use Azure OpenAI GPT-4o mini, provided by Microsoft Azure. User-submitted text and related data may be transmitted to Azure OpenAI for processing.

    • AI Image Generation:

      For image generation features, we use ByteDance Seedream AI – Text-to-Image 3.0, provided by Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. User-submitted prompts and image-related data may be processed by Volcengine for AI image generation.

    • AI File Transformation:

      For AI-powered file processing features, we may use third-party services to analyze, convert, or interpret user-submitted files. TextIn is used for AI file transformation, including document parsing, OCR, and file content extraction. User-uploaded files or text may be transmitted to TextIn for processing.
